Rural Ways route

The Rural Ways cycle rides consist of two separate routes south east of Dorking. They are predominately on-road using quieter roads in the area. However, there are also a few off-road sections that you may find more comfortable to ride using an off-road bicycle.

Route Map

Ordnance Survey Explorer map 146 covers the whole route. Maps and route descriptions can be found in pdf form at the bottom of this page.

Transport Links

A 2 mile long link to Dorking railway station is contained within the northern loop. Betchworth railway station (infrequent service) is also close to the northern loop and Holmwood railway station (not on Sundays) to both.

Route Description

The route consists of 2 separate loops: the northern and southern. These can be joined together to form a longer ride. The two nearest towns are Reigate and Dorking. Visit Surrey has details of hotels and B. & B.s to be found close to the route and elsewhere in Surrey.
